Motorola Solutions needs its latest tab to be a workhorse. The tabs are a hot item in customer electronics, appreciation to the attractiveness of iPad of Apple. And though consumer tabs are designed for a multiple functions - surfing the Web, playing games, streaming videos - they are not assemble for heavy practice in an industrial surroundings.

Schaumburg-based Motorola Solutions, which creates connections equipment for public protection, industrial customers and government, needs to alter that by releasing its first enterprise tablet recently. As the device is called the ET1, takes its essential design indication from the touch-screen tabs consumer’s use, sporting cameras on both sides and a 7-inch display.

Though, unlike consumer tabs, the ET1 is planned to withstand multiple falls, drops and intense temperatures. It can contain accessories such as a magnetic stripe reader and a barcode scanner. And its software allows multiple employees to make use of the device other than calls up a modified workspace for each person.

General Manager of mobile computing at Motorola Solutions, Girish Rishi, said that the tablets will be particularly useful in retail provisions, where people on the floor can call up merchandise information when consumers have queries. The ET1 is designed so a band which can be added in the back, by permitting users to carry the tablet effortlessly and grasp it up for someone else to analysis.

"We are seeing vendors craving to be extra responsive to the consumers who walk into their provisions," said by Rishi. "They are searching for their salespeople - their trade employees on the floor - to be more approachable at a higher rate."
